From Mike:
Really happy to talk to anyone who might be interested, and will prioritise the conversations so that they have time to fill in the applications.
Both post-holders will have the chance to teach on all the PG stuff we do, if they wish. We created an ‘apprenticeship’ job and an ‘online MA’ job to make it easy for the job approval committees to understand what these new roles would be. And the post-holders would definitely have those areas as their primary focus. But there would be opportunities for the ‘online’ person to do some in-person teaching, and for the ‘apprenticeship’ person to get involved in the online programme. And we might end up providing an online version of the apprenticeship in time as well, so there’s lots of scope for discussion with the appointees about what the jobs would actually entail.

If anyone is unsure about the apprenticeship, we teach the apprenticeship as a traditional PG Cert, with the students being in the classroom alongside the non-apprentices, so for anyone who is freaked out by the apprenticeship, it is basically the same PG Cert in med ed with a few extra whistles and bells.

The department’s current on-campus expectation is 40%, but I am happy to be sensible and flexible about that with the post-holder. I don’t believe in dragging people to an office in London unnecessarily.
