Are you interested in learning more about or exploring further Feldenkrais for Performance? We have two events coming up which may be of interest.
Sunday 22nd October 2023 Online between 10-11am
Online Q&A with Movement Coach and Feldenkrais Practitioner Victoria Worsley.
What is Feldenkrais, how and why is it useful for Actors, Movers & Performance? Can an experienced Actor improve further with this kind of work? How by doing less, do we discover more? We shall delve into such questions.
Victoria's book “Feldenkrais for Actors - How to do Less and Discover More” was published by Nick Hern Books in 2017. Definitely worth a read!
Price: £15 (£10 with code WEBSITE if booked by 12pm Saturday 30th Sept)
We also have a 3 hour in person workshop:
Sunday 5th November 2023 at Sadler's Wells 2.45-5.45pm
PRESENCE AND CONNECTION: THE PARADOX OF ACTING with Victoria Worsley
FELDENKRAIS FOR ACTING
At the heart of acting is a paradox: the importance of doing less to allow more to happen.
After any thinking and analysis there comes the moment to just be with yourself, the other actors, the audience or camera and simply allow what emerges in that situation. Impose and you miss. Disappear, disconnect and nothing happens. So what enables this place of presence and connection? What gets in the way?
Let's find out!
We will slow down and approach it physically, using Awareness Through Movement lessons from the Feldenkrais Method to discover where we do more than we know, where we get in our own way, where we work against ourselves - and our connection with others.
We will surround it with simple acting games and improvisations to notice the difference.
Price: £55 (20% off with discount code WEBSITE if booked by 12pm Saturday 30th Sept).
Both events are for actors, movers, makers of movement, directors, tutors and all those curious enough to join. Email: info@ shapesinmotion.com if you have any questions.
