The genetic algorithm used a home-made one. See the source code in https://github.com/DawnScience/scisoft-core/blob/master/uk.ac.diamond.scisoft.analysis/src/uk/ac/diamond/scisoft/analysis/optimize/GeneticAlg.java
The peak fitting uses a local offset in addition to the selected peak function (see https://github.com/DawnScience/dawn-ui/blob/ad47d52f47f767e8c7f68882d48cd56f31f484a1/org.dawnsci.plotting.tools/src/org/dawnsci/plotting/tools/fitting/FittingUtils.java#L195 and https://github.com/DawnScience/scisoft-core/blob/e79c1fe3ea1ae57ebdf04760af4f3da37a6fd23b/uk.ac.diamond.scisoft.analysis/src/uk/ac/diamond/scisoft/analysis/fitting/Generic1DFitter.java#L201).

I am interested in using DAWN's software for peak fitting, but have been struggling to find information on the genetic algorithm that DAWN peak fitting uses. I have two main questions:
1. What type of genetic algorithm is used? (if this can be divulged) 2. Does the peak fitting tool automatically perform some background baseline correction on the imported data? If so, can I have any more information on this, or be directed somewhere where I can find this information?
I sincerely apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this question, and I appreciate any feedback (including if I need to send this message elsewhere). Thank you!
