Toronto Metropolitan University is pleased to host the 5th Canadian Colloquium for Ancient Philosophy in Toronto, Canada from 5-6 April 2024.
We warmly invite the submission of proposals in either French or English for individual papers, poster presentations and panel discussions. We invite submissions in all areas of Ancient Philosophy (broadly construed), and we welcome submissions from graduate and postgraduate students.
The general, loose theme for the event is ‘New Directions in Ancient Philosophy’. We anticipate that this will include at least one panel on ‘Representation in Ancient Philosophy’.
The list of confirmed speakers includes:
• Amber Carpenter (Yale-NUS)
• Jessica Gelber (University of Toronto)
• Christiana Olfert (Tufts)
Additionally, this event will be jointly held with the 23rd annual Ancient Philosophy Society conference, featuring keynote speakers such as David Ebrey (University of Barcelona) and Marguerite Deslauriers (McGill University). The speakers from both events will be in-person.
Visit https://www.torontomu.ca/philosophy/news-events/ccap/ for full details and submission guidelines. Abstracts must be received by 1 October 2023.
Queries and suggestions welcome: [log in to unmask]
The colloquium is sponsored by generous funding from the Department of Philosophy at Toronto Metropolitan University and the British Society for the History of Philosophy.
Please consider submitting to these events to join us in Toronto in the Spring!
