Hello all,
We are looking for a statistician to join a DMEC covering two non-pharmacological clinical trials, which forms part of a collaboration between UCL, King’s College London, Bangor and Swansea as part of an NIHR funded programme grant (GNMLD-TALK).
The study recently started (April 2023), running until April 2028 with an anticipated 2 x DMEC meetings per year. It is looking at developing online support programmes for: (1) carers of individuals with non-memory-led dementias, and (2) individuals at-risk of inheriting genetic dementias (e.g. familiar Alzheimer’s disease or familial frontotemporal dementia). Both are non-pharmacological clinical trials, deemed relatively low risk. The study is currently in set-up/seeking approvals. Outline of the DMEC requirements as set out in the grant below:
Data Monitoring Committee (DMEC) (overseeing data management and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), reporting to the TSC):
o The TSC and DMEC will meet at least 6-monthly (DMEC before TSC) and have independent chairs and statisticians. The DMEC will recommend any changes to study conduct to the TMC and receive regular safety reports from the team.
o Appropriate supervision and training of project-specific staff (e.g., Good Clinical Practice) will be ensured.
o TMCs will update on trial progress to the overall programme management committee.
The Chief Investigator is Prof. Josh Stott at UCL Psychology and Language Sciences, and the programme manager is myself (Emilie Brotherhood; UCL Dementia Research Centre). If anyone is interested in the DMEC position, please kindly let me know via email: [log in to unmask]
