Hello,
Has anyone else experienced the ORCiD feed to DSpace failing and transposing author names in the repository? We are experiencing this sporadically and cannot identify a fix. We have logged with AtMire (for DSpace) and Symplectic (we have Elements) and ORCiD as well. Symplectic have suggested our local IT is scrambling the ORCiD number format (for security purposes - as if it were a credit card) but our IT seem at a loss to see what they could do.
Here's an example https://pearl.plymouth.ac.uk/handle/10026.1/20900 According to ORCiD, our author, Bridie Kent (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9550-1913) has disappeared from this record and is now Carlos from Brazil! We have many such examples and our authors are understandably concerned, particularly as Google Scholar is picking this up. It is not affecting all deposits to the repository though.
We added the ORCiD feed from Elements to DSpace as a new feature post 'upgrade' to DSpace 6 - but we are thinking we will need to roll back soon if this cannot be fixed.
Many thanks, Kate
