Dear School Library Research Subscribers;
My name is Cecilia. I am a postgraduate student who is currently studying for an MA in Librarianship at the University of Sheffield.
My dissertation is entitled The services and resources that secondary school libraries provide to young people with ADHD. As part of my dissertation, I am hoping to conduct a small-scale study with a minimum of 6-8 stakeholders who work either directly or indirectly with young people (aged 12-18) who have special educational ADHD within a secondary school library environment. I am contacting you because I was wondering if there was anyone who subscribed to this mailing list who would be interested in participating in my study.
All participants will be required to participate in an online, semi-structured interview, lasting for between 20-40 minutes. The questions that are asked during the interview will cover a range of topics including the range of services and resources that secondary school libraries provide to these individuals, how these services can be improved and the challenges that stakeholders face when they are providing resources and services to young people with ADHD and other special educational needs.
A Participant Information Sheet and Consent Form are attached to this message. Please take the time to read through them and consider if you would be interested in taking part in my study. If you wish to participate, please sign the Consent Form and email it to my student email address by no later than Wednesday 5th July, so that we can ensure that the interviews are carried out before the secondary schools close for the summer holidays.
