Our Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation will open the Symposium and Launch the UWS CCT Research Group.
10:30am – 11:30am The UWS CCT Research Group - P118
Founded in Dec 2022 UWS Creative Computing Technologies Research Group is the hub for creative computing (3D Animation, Computer Games, Music Technologies, Extended Realities, and Media Security) at the University of the West of Scotland. The research group aims to find applications of creative computing outside of the entertainment industry, such as applications in education, health, cultural heritage, and industry.
10:30 am - Dr Marco Gilardi Lead of the UWS CCT Research Group will introduce the group members, followed by his expertise in extended realities.

In this session three of our partners will discuss their work and the collaboration with UWS CCT and how it has benefitted their endeavours.
11:45am - Our partner Prof Mario Parra (Strathclyde University) – Will discuss the use of VR applications to potentially support early diagnosis of dementia.
12:00am - Our KTP partner Smartify Holdings ltd will discuss the benefits and impact that collaborating with UWS is making in developing XR solutions for the cultural heritage sector.
12:15pm - Our partner X Reality Safety Intelligence (XRSI) is the world’s leading organization dedicated to providing intelligence and advisory services that are vital for the protection and well-being in emerging technology ecosystems. In this session they will discuss our collaboration in developing a Shared Responsibility Model for the Enterprise metaverse.

Dr Stuart MacKay will present our Award Winning KTP Centre and discuss how the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) can support business growth and development.

Hear about the research that is taking place within the UWS CCT Lab. Our PGR students will discuss their work that spans multiple fields, including applications of XR and AI in industrial training and cultural heritage, study of eSports, and the development of thermal haptics for Virtual Reality.

In this workshop we look to develop collaborations, identify funding venues, and generate ideas for research and industry funding applications. The aim of the workshop is to develop two to four ideas that can be developed into funding applications.

The Digital Arts Forum Website is a new site which offers its members the
opportunity to publish news, events and weblogs, as well as take part in
discussions, forums and online chat.
The Digital Arts Forum is aimed primarily at digital artists and arts
workers in the East Midlands region of the UK, although we welcome input
from members elsewhere. The Forum is managed by Anna Petry, Digital Arts
Development Officer at Broadway Cinema and Media Centre in Nottingham.
The Digital Arts Forum provides a meeting ground for digital artists and
arts professionals to discuss work, strategy and development. Through its
regular meetings and email discussion lists, it aims to bring together a
network of artists to develop collaborations and partnerships which will
build the quality and profile of digital arts in the region
