The field of A.I. is very aware of the high energy usage of A.I. and energy costs money and also restricts where A.I. might be applied. You couldn't run it on batteries for long or support it with solar cells or implement it in consumer products or support it with energy harvesting technologies.
The comparison of the energy usage of A.i. to the human brain which uses very little to think has been made for some time now.
Implementing A.I. on the current types of chips, microprocessorss and graphic processing units and such is not seen as a path to low energy A.I.
However, there are now being released neuromorphic chips, designed using the brain as a reference guide, to make much lower power A.I. chips.
The issue of climate change isn't going to be useful to block A.I. technology.
