Dear all,
Apologies for multiple posting!
I'd like to invite you to submit a contribution to our GeoBerlin Session 3.20 "Metamorphism and Deformation across scales" for the upcoming GeoBerlin 2023 (3-8 Sept). The deadline has been extended to the 22.05.
Please find the session description below.
Our invited speaker is Lucie Tajcmanova (Heidelberg)
See you in Berlin!
on behalf of the conveners,
Simon Schorn

This session invites contributions related to the coupling and interactions of metamorphic and deformation-related processes. Despite the importance of metamorphism and deformation at high pressure and temperature (P–T) conditions, the scarcity of direct natural observations makes the investigation of such processes challenging. The fact that mineral reactions take place at the grain scale but have geodynamic consequences on the lithospheric scale, makes the study of metamorphic processes such as subduction and collision processes a multiscale problem. Thus, constraining the physics and across-scale interactions of these processes requires a combined methodological approach. We particularly invite contributions from the fields of metamorphic processes, petrology, structural geology, geodynamics and geophysics that focus on natural observations, experiments and modelling of metamorphic/deformation processes from the thin section to the lithospheric scale.
