Dear All
We're delighted to announce that we are finally taking our conference to Edinburgh! (this was our planned destination in 2020).
Please save the date - Friday 24 November - at the University of Edinburgh's conference centre, South Hall, Pollack Estate. Bookings will open in September.
To make this another successful conference we need your input as speakers. Our theme is "Change, evolution and disruption in library customer services". Topics you might like to consider are:
How do the changes taking place across our services support our strategic ambitions?
Have you seen changes in how your library is viewed by your institution in recent years? How have you responded to this?
How have changes taking place elsewhere in your institution impacted on the service you deliver?
How do you engage your teams in developing your library strategy?
How have you responded to changing patterns of use and behaviour? Have you changed your opening hours? Staffing structures?
As budgets come under increasing pressures do you have examples of how you have managed these creatively?
What role does sustainability play in the development and delivery of your services?
How are you responding to the rise of artificial intelligence?
Are your services being disrupted? By your users? By your staff? How are you responding to this?
How are your teams responding to change?
How are managers and supervisors being supported to deliver change? - We are exploring the idea of an afternoon workshop on supporting managers as they respond to changes. If you would be interested in delivering this (or know someone who would be) please get in touch.
We’d love to hear from you if you are able to answer any of the questions above or have other experiences you feel are relevant and wish to share. Please provide an abstract of your presentation of no more than 200 words.
If you are interested in speaking, please contact our Events Group Co-Chair Rachel Heastie at: [log in to unmask] by 3 July.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Helen Loughran (on behalf of CSGUK)
