Tuesday 9th May, 11:00-12:00, Online Event
An event of remembrance and reconciliation for those who lost their lives during the Second World War.
On November 22, 2004, the U.N. General Assembly declared May 8 and 9 a Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation for those who Lost their Lives during WWII inviting all member states, organizations of the United Nations System, non-governmental organizations, and individuals to observe either one or both of these days appropriately to pay tribute to all victims of the Second World War.
The London Passenger Transport Board had over 22,000 men serve overseas during WWII and many more staff on duty in London on the Home Front. Not all survived. In this event we hear just a few of their stories, selected and read by members of our team as a mark of respect and remembrance to our predecessors.
