Hello all,
Evidence & Policy invites proposals for special issues on any topic related to the intersections of research evidence, public policy, and practice.
Proposal deadline: 31 August 2023
About Evidence & Policy
Evidence & Policy is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to comprehensive and critical assessment of the relationship between researchers and the evidence they produce and the concerns of policy makers and practitioners. Read our aims and scope to learn more https://bristoluniversitypressdigital.com/view/journals/evp/evp-overview.xml?tab_body=about
All proposals should contain the following sections:
Topic – What is the topic of the proposed special issue?
Editor(s) – Who will be responsible for curating the special issue?
Rationale – Why is a special issue on this topic needed?
Scope – What types of papers or research questions will be invited for the special issue?
Recruitment – How will papers be recruited? [Note: Recruitment can occur via existing networks, as the result of a conference, via an open call for submissions, or ideally a combination of these mechanisms.]
Timeline – What is the timeline for the special issue?
Prior special issues can serve as a guide for special issue formats and scopes. Prior special issues include:
Creativity and co-production [Fully open access issue] https://bristoluniversitypressdigital.com/view/journals/evp/18/2/evp.18.issue-2.xml
The many faces of disability in evidence for policy and practice

Opening up evidence-based policy: exploring citizen and service user expertise

Priority will be given to special issue proposals with the potential to recruit a demographically, geographically, and ideologically diverse pool of authors and perspectives. Special issue editors are responsible for recruiting authors, providing preliminary feedback on papers prior to formal submission and writing an editorial introduction to the special issue. The external peer review process for special issue papers is handled by the Evidence & Policy Editors in consultation with the special issue editors.
Special issue proposals and questions can be sent by email to editor Zachary Neal at [log in to unmask] Proposals received by 31 August 2023 will be considered by the editorial board.
I look forward to seeing your proposals,
Thea Cook
