What is missing from Theatre, Race & Ethnicity Education?
Host: Bella Enahoro
Date: Date May 24th & May 25th at 11.00 am – 12.00pm
Event Format: At the beginning of the event the host will introduce the key ideas, principles and practices behind the theme of the event and offer provocations for discussion.
There will also be a short extract from a learning module sharing the host’s approach to theatre, race & ethnicity.
There will be opportunities to ask questions of the contributor throughout.

This webinar is for all those Commissioning, convening and directing courses, teaching and wanting to make work in (and across) theatre, live art, performance art, drag, cabaret, playwriting, video, moving image, sound art, and digital work, as well as those wanting to be a critic, facilitator, producer or academic researcher of performance.
The Host: Bella Enahoro’s work as an artist and performer has also informed her history of engagement as a teacher, lecturer and collaborator with other artists.
As an educator, Bella has taught at UCLA and also, among other places, at the Central School of Speech and Drama as a Visiting Lecturer. Bella gained her undergraduate degree at Cambridge in Social and Political Sciences (1st class) before gaining a place at the University of California, Los Angles Film School to study Screenwriting. Bella gained a Masters in Text and Performance at RADA/Birkbeck, graduating with Distinction. Bella also has a Masters in Gender, Society and Culture from London University - all the while continuing to work as an actor and in addition an educator. As an actor, she has worked in theatre with companies such as the RSC and the Manchester Royal Exchange and in television as a BBC Series regular and in film with notable directors. As a writer, her play LIKE.SHARE.KILL was placed in: RSC 37 Plays (longlist) 2023; Women’s Prize for Playwriting (Shortlisted) 2022; Finborough Theatre ETPEP Award (Runner up) 2021; Theatre Uncut Award (Shortlist) 2021. Her television pilot PRODIGAL took her to interview stage for the Netflix Fellowship (2021) and given Special praise by ThousandFilms Screenwriting Competition (2019).
