The Department of Literary Studies, Philology and Linguistics of the University of Milan and the Department of Classics of Trinity College Dublin are proud to announce the workshop Shifting Paradigms. Postcolonial Archaeology and Ethical Challenges in MENA Countries promoted by the Archeostorie Journal of Public Archaeology which will take place on May 3rd both remotely and in person.
The aim of the event is to reflect on the wider social potential and challenges of archaeological fieldwork in zones destabilized by conflicts and political turmoil and on the key role of local communities in building inclusive research strategies. The event will be chaired by Chiara Bonacchi (University of Edinburgh). The proceedings of the workshop will be published open-access in the next volume of the Archeostorie journal (CfP still open: https://archeostoriejpa.eu/call-for-papers-volume-6/).
