Following our meeting at the RSS on the misuse of statistics, where we
discussed the work the UK Office for Statistics of Regulation (OSR) has
done on misleadingness, we havea follow up event in Dundee, with the
support of the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science. This will
be a hybrid meeting, but you are all welcome to join us in Dundee 12:30 -
13:30 on Thursday the 4th May. Centre director Prof Naimh Nic Daeid FRSE
will chair the discussion with Ed Humpherson CB of OSR and Prof Rowan Cruft
of the University of Stirling. This represents a fulfilment of our
intention to discuss more evidential matters of the use of statistics in
support of public claims at the RSS conference in Aberdeen last year.
