The School of Arts and Creative Industries (ACI) at the University of East London (UEL) welcomes applications to our Professional Doctorate in Performing Arts programme.
ACI has a strong research and professional practice ethos and is home to a growing community of researchers, postgraduate students, and partners.
Our staff maintain a high profile through publications, exhibitions, performances, and conferences and through an active programme of work with the creative industries and socially engaged practice.
ACI staff are experienced in supervising research students across the full spectrum of performing arts such as dance, choreography, theatre, directing, acting, applied theatre, and more.
Our ProfDoc route is designed to give you the opportunity to:
• Develop an advanced independent performing arts practice and area of research, realized within a professional context.
• Analyse current models of artistic practice relevant to the research area
• Elaborate a theoretical / critical framework for the research that informs and supports creative practice
• Establish an advanced professional practice that makes connections between intention, process, outcome, context and methods of dissemination and production.
