This is a call for a new job opportunity for a 32-month Post-doctoral Researcher position at the Geography Department of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. 

The post-doctoral position is fixed term, full-time until 31.12.2025 (pay grade according to 13 TV-L). This position is specifically for candidates with background in any of the fields of Human Geography, Urban Studies, Political Ecology, Environmental history, STS, Medical Anthropology (or cognate fields).

The Post-doctoral Researcher will working as part of an Berlin-based Research Consortium and international team of researchers on the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) funded Grand Challenge Initiative Global Health Exploration Project “Re-Scaling Global Health. We seek:
The position is advertised for the subproject 4 “Urban Pollution and Multispecies Health” led by Sandra Jasper and Ignacio Farías. The candidate will be based in the geography department, reporting to Sandra Jasper, and will be part of a larger interdisciplinary research team working collaboratively across different urban sites. 

We are seeking a critical social scientist to examine the complex relationship between human health, biodiversity, and urban pollution through the case of urban rivers. The project explores how urban rivers – as human habitat and urban ecology – contain different types of visible and invisible pollution that affect human and ecosystem health and the temporal scales of disaster and exposure deriving from it.

The post is expected to commence on 1 April 2023 or an agreed date thereafter.
