Lunch and Learn, March 7, 2023 12 pm EST
Please join us for our next Lunch & Learn: Uncovering Propaganda, Deception and Bias in Media Reporting: Using Text Analytics as a Scientific Tool for Automatic Detection (Part 2)
Dr. John Aaron is hosting this event. It is the second event in a 3-part series. Session #2 explores examples of uncovering linguistic patterns of deception in text using a combination of text analytics and statistical analysis. In this session we demonstrate how subtle patterns of censorship and deception can be identified in social media channels, personal interviews, blogs, etc. by using Wordstat phrase and topic modeling functions in combination with machine learning tools. In session #2 we also demonstrate how to apply these same methods using an automated model for the purpose uncovering censorship and deception in search engine queries and in computer generated text. As a final topic for this second session, we will address the use of topic modeling in combination with time series analysis in order to explore an important concept brought up during session #1 around the idea of “pre-emptive framing”.
The event will held Tuesday, March 7, 12h-13h EST (New York time). There will be a 30-45 minute presentation followed by a question and answer session. The event is free.
You can register by going to the Webinar Section on the Provalis Research website.
