We have an open PhD position, fully funded, in Collective Robotics at
the University of Konstanz, Germany
within the world's finest research environment for collective behavior.
This position is part of the Excellence Cluster Centre for the Advanced
Study of Collective Behaviour with tight links to the Max Planck
Institute of Animal Behavior.

The successful applicant will join the Cyber-physical Systems research
group (https://cps.uni-konstanz.de/) at the University of Konstanz. The
working language is English.
This position is part of the research project Division of Labor in Robot
Swarms with Minimize Surprise, where we use methods of active inference
to provoke collective robot behaviors, here with focus on division of
labor and task allocation in mobile multi-robot systems (simulated and
real hardware). As a member of Centre for the Advanced Study of
Collective Behaviour, you will have the opportunity to contribute to
modern research in collective robotics, to work in one of the best
research environments for collective behavior, and to interact with the
global research community.
The city of Konstanz is located in the far South of Germany right at the
border to Switzerland. The region is famous for its extremely high
touristic quality: Lake of Constance & nearby Alps. Zürich is just an
hour away.
The start date is April 17th, 2023 or earlier by agreement. The position
is initially available until Dec 31, 2025.
