Dear colleagues,
I am trying to help one of our researchers who is looking into the Flamborough 1909 Coble Disaster.
She is trying to investigate the administration of the Flamborough 1909 Coble Disaster Relief Fund, including the case heard in the High Court of Justice, Cross v Lloyd-Greame (1909) 102 LT 163, and the subsequent ‘Scheme’ devised for the widows, orphans and dependents of the victims of the disaster.
She is trying to locate:
• Barristers papers from Stacpoole & Co, 7 Union Court, Old Broad Street, E.C.
• Barristers papers from King Wigg & Co, 11, Queen Victoria Street, E.C.
• Papers relating to John Ralph Smith (solicitor), 49 Basinghall Street, Leeds
• The Redcar 1909 Coble Disaster Relief Fund
• East Riding Coroner’s Court records of Sir Luke White MP (probably been destroyed)
She has already found papers re the court case at:
• National Archives, Kew
• East Riding Archives, Beverley
• Papers of the Lloyd-Greame Family of Sewerby, Hull History Centre
• Local Studies Library, Bridlington
• Carnegie Hero Fund Trust, Dunfermline
• RNLI, Poole
If you or any other repositories hold any relevant papers please let me know, so that I might pass on any information to the researcher.
With best wishes,
Susan
