Am Institut für Europäische Ethnologie der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin wird eine 100%-E13 wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in-Stelle (m/w/d) maximal befristet für 6 Jahre ausgeschrieben.

Aufgabengebiet:

-      wiss. Dienstleistungen in Forschung und Lehre (4 SWS) sowie akad. Selbstverwaltung
-      Mitarbeit in der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
-      Aufgaben zur eigenen wiss. Qualifizierung (Habilitation) in Europäischer Ethnologie/Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie
-      eigenes Forschungsprofil an der Schnittstelle von Institutsschwerpunkten wünschenswert

Anforderungen:

-      abgeschlossenes wiss. Hochschulstudium und Promotion in Europäischer Ethnologie, Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie oder einem verwandten sozialwissenschaftlichen Fach (möglichst mit überdurchschnittlichem Abschluss)
-      sehr gute Kenntnisse ethnographischer Forschung
-      sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

Das Institut für Europäische Ethnologie agiert in hohem Maße kollektiv und als Department, d.h., Mitarbeiter*innen fühlen sich Aufgaben des Instituts als Gesamtheit und nicht einzelnen Professuren/Lehrstühlen verpflichtet. Das Institut pflegt ein offenes und internationales Fachverständnis, ohne dabei deutschsprachige Denkstile und Forschungstraditionen zu vernachlässigen. Es bietet ein breites Forschungsprofil, BA/MA Studiengänge mit einem hohen Anteil an englischsprachigen Veranstaltungen, Formate für eine umfassende Betreuung von Promotionen und Habilitationen und eine lebhafte und engagierte Studierendenschaft.

The Institute of European Ethnology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is seeking to fill a full-time senior lecturer-researcher position (m/f/d) for a maximum period of 6 years. 

Application deadline: January 31, 2023

Responsibilities:

-      Research and teaching as well as academic service
-      Support the public presence of the institute
-      Develop new research beyond the PhD, such as a new book project or an advanced qualification (Habilitation) in European Ethnology/Social and Cultural Anthropology
-      Develop a research profile that bridges the Institute's existing thematic areas of research

Requirements: 

-      A completed doctorate in European Ethnology, Social and Cultural Anthropology, or a related social science discipline (preferably with an above-average evaluation, where relevant)
-      Advanced skills in ethnographic research
-      Very good knowledge of written and spoken German and English

The Institute of European Ethnology acts to a large extent collectively and as a department, i.e., faculty members are committed to supporting the Institute as a whole and not to focusing solely on individual professorships or research programs. The Institute cultivates an open and international approach to the discipline, without neglecting German-speaking styles of thought and research traditions. It offers a broad research profile, BA/MA degree programs with a high proportion of English-language courses, formats for comprehensive supervision of doctoral and postdoctoral research, and a lively and committed student body.
