I am pleased to announce that nominations for the MeCCSA Awards 2023 are now open, with a deadline of midday Monday 27th February 2023.
I would also like to remind everyone of the call for papers deadline to the Annual MeCCSA 2023 Conference, to be held 4-6 September 2023 at Glasgow Caledonian University. Deadline for this is Friday next week, 20 January 2023.

MECCSA AWARDS 2023
To recognise outstanding research in the fields of media, communication, and cultural studies, MeCCSA is presenting annual awards in the following categories:
* Journal Article of the Year
* Monograph of the Year
* Edited Collection of the Year
* Practice Based Research of the Year
* Doctoral Research of the Year
We are now inviting nominations for outputs published / released in public domain or doctoral research completed in 2022.
Nominations will be reviewed by a panel appointed by the MeCCSA Executive Committee who will decide the shortlists, and make one award per year for each category. All MeCCSA Awards will be announced at the Annual Conference held in September.

MeCCSA is pleased to invite the submission of abstracts, panel proposals and practice-based contributions for our Annual Conference, to be held 4-6th September 2023 at Glasgow Caledonian University.
We welcome submissions aligned either with the conference theme or any area covered by MeCCSA and its networks.

* Media safety and privacy
* Social media including activism/influencing
* Virtual and augmented reality
* Media disconnections
