Thursday 8th December 2022
17:00 GMT I 12:00 EST I 11:00 CST I 09:00 BST
In 1972, Laura Nader published her now seminal essay Up the Anthropologist: Perspectives Gained From Studying Up. 50 years later, her essay has been cited more than 3000 times by scholars across the social sciences and remains a foundational text of elite studies.
In this event, we will be joined by Laura Nader, who will give the opening keynote, followed by interventions from Rachel Sherman, Pere Ayling, and Sanjukta Mukherjee. The speakers will revisit the article and reflect on the potential and practice of Studying Up today. The talks will be followed by discussion and questions from the audience.
