NOTES ON BRESSON is a two day conference exploring the films and influence of Robert Bresson. 2023 marks 80 years since the wartime release of Bresson’s first feature film, LES ANGES DU PECHE, in 1943 and 40 years since the release of his final feature film, L’ARGENT, in 1983. A forty year career and its influence reviewed from a distance of forty years: 1943-1983-2023.
The Conference, which will also include screenings, hopes to attract papers, presentations and participation from academics, research students, filmmakers and practitioners across creative disciplines that explore innovative historical, critical and contemporary perspectives in relation to Robert Bresson, his films and his influence.
