Dear Carlos,
the parameter settings between VBM8 and CAT12 for bias correction are not comparable and in CAT12 there is also some adaptive approach implemented to find the optimal correction. Furthermore, even inhomogeneities of about 20% are not obvious in visual inspection. Thus, I would strongly recommend to start with the default settings and to only change that setting for 7T data or sequences with strong inhomogeneities.
