Hi Evaluation Network Scotland!
Any professional evaluators – particularly early career (up to 10 years) - willing to take part in, and contribute to, empirical research about the practice (s) of evaluation?
We have a request from a fellow evaluator, Giorgia Iacopini, who leads the London/South East network. She’s looking for participants in her research about evaluation practice. So if having a ‘reflection on practice’ conversation sounds like you, get in touch (Georgia's email below).
We’ve also suggested that when she finishes the research, we’d be very interested to have her share about what she learns at a future ENS forum!
ABOUT GEORGIA'S RESEARCH
I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Policy Research and Practice at University of Bath with a thesis focused on examining, and better understanding, how evaluation has evolved over time; the tensions, dilemmas, challenges inherent in the practice; how other evaluators negotiate and navigate them in their day-to-day work; and to reflect on opportunities and constraints to further evolution of the practice. What evaluators actually do and think, how they enact the practice and perform their role (s), how they position themselves and grapple with what the practice is about in their day-to day work, is generally under-studied. The views, knowledge, experience, reflections of other professional evaluators will be extremely valuable and contribute to research about evaluation, which there is less of.
Taking part in the research would involve an interview (more of a conversation), of up to max 90 minutes.
If you have questions, interested to know more or to receive a participant information sheet, contact me, Giorgia, directly ([log in to unmask]) I’ll be delighted to hear from you 😊
