Pobl Pen Dinas a Pryd nad yw llawysgrif Gymraeg yn llawysgrif Gymraeg? Dychweliad Gruffydd ap Cynan
Ymunwch â ni ar gyfer y cyntaf yn y gyfres o gyflwyniadau Dau Wrthrych, Dwy Sgwrs, wrth i Simon Rodway drafod pobl Pen Dinas gyda Map Degwm fel ei wrthrych dewisol, a Peadar Ó Muircheartaigh ofyn 'Pryd nad yw llawysgrif Gymraeg yn llawysgrif Gymraeg?' wrth edrych ar ddychweliad Gruffudd ap Cynan a llawysgrif Peniarth 17.
Yn ystod y gyfres hon, sy’n elfen o waith Rhwydwaith y Llawysgrif a'r Llyfr, bydd staff Adran y Gymraeg ac Astudiaethau Celtaidd Prifysgol Aberystwyth, yn trafod arwyddocâd un gwrthrych yr un o gasgliadau’r Llyfrgell Genedlaethol. Gan ddefnyddio mapiau, lluniau, llawysgrifau, toriadau papur newydd a hyd yn oed ewyllysiau, bydd y sesiynau’n trafod amrywiaeth o bynciau diddorol, gan fynd â ni ar daith o’r hen oesoedd hyd heddiw, ac o Gymru i’r byd.

Pobl Pen Dinas & When is a Welsh manuscript not a Welsh manuscript? The repatriation of Gruffudd ap Cynan
Join us for the first in the series of Dau Wrthrych, Dwy Sgwrs presentations, as Simon Rodway discusses the people of Pen Dinas (Pobl Pen Dinas), with a Tithe Map as his chosen object and with Peadar Ó Muircheartaigh who asks When is a Welsh manuscript not a Welsh manuscript? The repatriation of Gruffudd ap Cynan, focusing on Peniarth 17 manuscript.
During this series, which is an element of the work by the Manuscript and the Book Network, staff from the Welsh and Celtic Studies Department at Aberystwyth University, will discuss the significance of one object each from the National Library’s collections. Using maps, pictures, manuscripts, newspaper cuttings and even wills, the sessions will discuss a variety of interesting subjects, taking us on a journey from former ages to today, and from Wales to the world.
**A bilingual event - simultaneous translation provided**
