The Division of Health Research (DHR) within Lancaster University’s Faculty of Health and Medicine is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate with qualitative research experience. You will support Professor Popay and the team with managing and developing and delivering research in the NIHR School for Public Health Research (NIHR SPHR https://sphr.nihr.ac.uk ) including in particular the new health inequalities research programme.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in a relevant topic (or equivalent research experience) relevant to the post including substantial experience of qualitative research (data collection, analysis and writing up). Other required skills and experience include: project management; experience of working with the public and communities as partners in research and engaging with policy/practice partners in the public and civil society sectors; and ability to work with academic partners across multiple Universities. A record of publishing work in peer reviewed journals and experience of quantitative methods would be advantageous. Successful applicants will be appointed to a suitable point on the common pay scale according to qualifications and experience.
You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication, organisational and writing skills. The post will require the ability to travel within England.
