This is an in-person and virtual pedagogy conference. Details below

TEACHING AND LEARNING – Sheridan College Call

Dates: April 26-28, 2023
Abstracts: Nov 15, 2022
Place: Toronto, Canada (and online)

https://amps-research.com/toronto-sheridan/

Sheridan College is one pf Canada’s leading design institutions. It seeks to celebrate and share best practice pedagogy that acknowledges creativity, engaged teaching and industry engagement. This conference seeks to bring together educators with a similar range of concerns and objectives. To that end, it is deliberately open to various standpoints.

Sessions will be organized in accordance with disciplinary focus: architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, art, design, environmental studies and more

Examples of the questions we seek to ask at this conference are:

- How is exploration within studio-based learning fostering adaptation to complexity?
- How are approaches to teaching and learning responding to shifts in professional practice?
- What models of peer-to-peer learning support collaboration within education and practice?
- What methodologies and approaches help to facilitate and support student exploration and innovation?
- What emerging and current frameworks support knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary research, innovation and/or community partnerships?
- How do partnerships between academia, communities, and organizations foster “real world” and lifelong learning?
- How can interdisciplinary educational approaches foster effective, collaborative, creative and participatory learning?
- How can virtual curriculum delivery support applied education and preparation for a complex and dynamic world?
- How can virtual and distance education foster access and inclusion for potential and current learners?

-

Part of the broader “Applying Education in a Complex World” event organsied in collaboration with AMPS and Routledge.
