More than a Launch: Routledge Companion to Audiences and the Performing Arts
1pm-5pm
Thursday 6th October
Stage@Leeds
School of Performance and Cultural Industries, University of Leeds
We invite researchers and practitioners to ‘More than a Launch’ of the recently published Routledge Companion to Audiences and the Performing Arts. Published in 2022, the Companion brings together 60 authors across 46 chapters to create a truly multi-dimensional exploration of the inter-relationships between audiences and the performing arts.
‘More than a Launch’ will bring together authors from the Companion along with emerging audience researchers and invited respondents. It seeks to critically and creatively reflect upon where audience research is, where it is going and where it needs to be. The event will include short presentations from Companion authors followed by responses from invited panelists and participants, including UK-based writer and dramaturg Maddy Costa.
We hope ‘More than a Launch’ will be of relevance to anybody interested in audiences and the performing arts, including current graduate and post-graduate researchers.

****Are you a PGR or recently graduated PhD?****
The editors have invited a response from postgraduate researchers working in audience studies, with the aim of critically and creatively reflecting upon where audience research is, where it is going and where it needs to be in the future. To contribute to the response, we are holding 2 PGR book club sessions on ZOOM to accommodate different time zones (8am BST & 4pm BST) and all are welcome! Get in touch with [log in to unmask] to register your interest and find out more.
