Dear colleagues,
I'm getting in touch to share some research opportunities related to an AHRC-funded project called ‘The Environmental Impact of Filmmaking: Using Star Wars to Improve Sector Sustainability Practices.’ You can find out more about the research, objectives, and partners at https://fass.open.ac.uk/research/projects/EIF.
The project is advertising a 0.8FTE research associate position, which might suit someone interested in material histories of media and tech. Further info (including on accessibility and remote working) is available to read and download from https://www.open.ac.uk/about/employment/vacancies/research-associate-environmental-impact-filmmaking-project-eif-20220. Please pass this on to anyone who may be interested and feel free to contact me with questions.
The project also includes an interdisciplinary research network, which will provide an informal online space for researchers at any career stage, including grad students, to share insights and forge new collaborations. If you’re working in a related field - histories of screen media, the environment/sustainability, media ecologies, media making and merchandising, etc. - and would like to join the network, please email me at [log in to unmask] There will be a small number of paid writing opportunities for PhD/ECR members.
All the best,
Becca
