Registration is closing soon for the BES Aquatic Ecology Annual Meeting! Join us in Oxford on 12–13 September to hear about recent findings and future priorities for marine and freshwater ecosystems, learn new skills, and network with other ecologists in your field. This packed programme includes workshops on mapping in R and on mental health for academics, lightning talks from early career researchers, and our exciting keynote talks:
• Christian Voolstra (King Abdullah University): Coral reefs and climate change – mitigating the ecological collapse
• Emma Cavan (Imperial College London): Carbon sequestration by pelagic marine life – plankton, krill & fish
• Tom Hart (University of Oxford): Shifts in phenology in penguins from camera monitoring and citizen science
• Carolina Trochine (Universitat Central de Catalunya): Pond ecosystems for resilient landscapes in a changing climate
• Elena Litchman (Michigan State University): Trait-based approaches to phytoplankton ecology and evolution
• Cristina Santin Nuño (Swansea University): Ecological impacts of wildfires under a warming climate
There’s also still time to submit an abstract for a lightning talk, so why not take this opportunity to share your own research?
Registration and abstract deadline: 12:00 (BST) Monday 29 August 2022
You do not need to be a member of the British Ecological Society to come along, though members do benefit from discounted tickets.
