Dear Carmen
Sorry for the delay in replying. Statistically, I think what you're really asking is: what's the probability that the connection strengths differ between my two samples? And if the probability is low, then I'll conclude that the results are reliable? To assess this, you would want to specify a model of the group difference. I.e., specify a PEB model that includes the difference between groups.
All the best
Peter

Subject: [SPM] Dissimilarity index for spDCM results
⚠ Caution: External sender
Dear DCM experts,
I am planning to run spDCM in two independent data sets using the same ROIs (networks) and a covariate of interest. I would like to assess the reliability of the effective connectivity results. The results are presented in heatmaps (like in the DCM output). My question is: Is there a way to directly compare heatmaps of two different samples? In other words, can I quantitatively assess the dissimilarity between heat maps given the fact that not each cell of the heat map contains a value?
For any suggestions on how to calculate a dissimilarity index in the context of DCM heatmaps would be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best wishes
Carmen
