Dear PEARL users,
Due to the extremely high temperatures forecast in the UK over the next few days the PEARL service will be running 'at-risk' until further notice.
If the temperature reaches the heights that are predicted then we cannot be sure of the performance of the cooling system in the machine room that hosts PEARL. We may be required to reduce the load on the cooling system, possibly at short notice, by powering off some or all of the compute clusters to save cooling capacity for the storage systems (which are more difficult to recover in the event of failure).
The situation will be kept under constant review and we will inform you of any action that we have had to take.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us via the PEARL Helpdesk
Regards,
The PEARL team
