Applications are being invited for a postdoctoral research position to investigate decarbonisation of traffic including freight in the QUANT research group at the School of engineering in Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.
The postdoctoral researcher will participate in the research project, DRIFT-HDV, funded by SEAI and Department of Transport. The project aims to recommend methods of full decarbonisation considering new technologies including electric vehicles, electric roads/e-highways, hydrogen or fuel cell trucks and power-to-liquid options along with renewable liquid fuels in transportation sector including freight.
The postdoctoral position is available at 12-15 months and will be paid at Level 2 (€42000-€45000) in line with Government Pay Policy for new postdoctoral researchers.
Candidates for the Postdoctoral position must have completed all the requirements for a PhD in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field by the start date. Research experience in transport modelling is required. A strong background in traffic simulation, computer programming or data science is desirable.
