New Zealand QuakeCoRE PhD scholarship: Modelling the economic impact of targeting building designs based on functional recovery objectives
The QuakeCoRE (http://www.quakecore.nz) Interdisciplinary Research Programme “Achieving Functional Recovery with Repairable Multi-storey Buildings” (IP1) in New Zealand (co-led by University of Canterbury and University of Auckland) is actively seeking one PhD candidate to work on modelling the economic impact of targeted building designs based on functional recovery objectives. A full scholarship (tuition fee and stipend for three years) will be available. The PhD candidate can choose to undertake this topic either at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering or at the School of Business, University of Auckland.
Requirements:
• Having a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Economics, Regional Planning, Regional Science, or other relevant fields
• Can use input-output or computable general equilibrium modelling
• Students with a very strong background in systems and mathematical modelling and a strong interest in macro-economics will also be considered.
• Students with publication records and/or solid research experience are preferred.
