Posted on behalf of the Duchy of Cornwall estate
An exciting opportunity has arisen as an Archivist for the Duchy of Cornwall estate. This position will ensure the maintenance of the estate’s legacy. The post will be responsible for the cataloguing, conservation and preservation of the physical archive dating back to the 14th century building on the work of predecessors. In addition, it will establish the digital archive.
As the estate moves more fully to digital working, we will want to ensure that the paper legacy is appropriately archived. Initially, a critical focus for this role will be to work with the regional office teams to survey, appraise and either dispose of or transfer records to the London based archive. You will need to be able to be confident in making and leading appraisal decisions. This project work is likely to require periods of work across the West of England in Dorset, Cornwall, Devon, Herefordshire and Somerset.
