Learning on Screen – media and audiovisual research project services
Learning on Screen (previously BUFVC) are currently interested in forging research collaborations with research active academics in the UK. Utilising our proprietary resources, we are equipped to assist and enhance your media and audiovisual research at any stage of the research lifecycle, in particular offering services in the following areas:
• Database Construction
Learning on Screen has extensive experience in all aspects of database construction, including managing large-scale document digitisation and developing document viewer tools. We have built databases for a diversity of projects together with academic partners, including the much-lauded Women’s Work in British Film and Television project (https://learningonscreen.ac.uk/womenswork/).
• Broadcast Asset Curation
We are especially interested in working with researchers keen to exploit the vast archive of 2.8M television and radio broadcasts that makes up BoB. These broadcast assets date back to the 1950s and can be further supplemented with materials from our extensive off-air archive and assets from the BBC digital archive. Learning on Screen can supply a bespoke curatorship of these broadcasts, organised in preparation for qualitative research tasks.
Researchers interested in collaborations that would see Learning on Screen assisting as a formal industry partner should contact Dr Gil Toffell ([log in to unmask]), or can find more information on the services we offer here: (https://learningonscreen.ac.uk/teaching-and-research/research-resources/).
