The University of Manchester's Centre for the Study of Sexuality and Culture and Sexuality Summer School warmly invite you to join us for a roundtable celebrating Prof. Laura Doan’s work at the University of Manchester. This event is free — no registration necessary — and is followed by a drinks reception.

Day/Time: Thursday 12 May 2022, 2-5pm

Location: Graduate School Conference Room, C1.18, Ellen Wilkinson Building.

This one-day symposium celebrates Prof. Laura’s Doan’s distinguished career and looks forward to her next book, Bees and Birds: an Unnatural History of Sexuality, which will be published by Chicago University Press. The symposium will mark Laura’s research contribution to the field of gender and sexuality studies and her teaching in the Department of English, American Studies and Creative Writing.

The roundtable will consist of Prof. Laura Doan, Prof. Jackie Stacey (The University of Manchester), Prof. Matt Houlbrook (The University of Birmingham), Dr. Emily Rutherford (Merton College, Oxford), Prof. David Alderson (The University of Manchester) and Dr. Ben Nichols (The University of Manchester).

The event is organised by Prof. Janet Wolff and Prof. Daniela Caselli.
