Greetings,
The maps are reproductions that were taken from the Chinese book
Sino-Indian Boundary Question, pictured. It contains 16 fold out maps
illustrating the narrative. The other Chinese book also contains a
couple of additional maps (not the McMahon line maps), a few of which
are duplicates from the larger initial publication.
The McMahon line book of Alistair Lamb has reproductions of detailed
areas along the line (in Vol II, only. Vol I is only text).
Improving the resolution of these reproductions won't get you too far
without enhancements, because the "originals" in these two books were
not too badly reproduced to create the images to which you linked your
readers.
If you find that the library doesn't have a copy of these, I'd be happy
to donate a copy of the "Chou-en-Lai's letter volume to the library. I
have a duplicate of it.
Regards,
Len Nadybal
