Anyone can join the Archives & Records Association, we have four main membership categories:
Student membership is open to all those studying ARA-accredited courses. It is a demonstration of your commitment to the record-keeping profession and a great addition to your CV. It shows a level of commitment early on in your career, particularly if you are involved in the section for new professionals [LINK ] or any of the ARA’s activities. Free to apprentices, £12 for students on accredited courses.
Affiliate Membership is open to anyone with an interest in archives, archive conservation and records management. Affiliate membership is also open to students studying related subjects that are not accredited by the ARA. Costs £37
Individual membership is open to all those who work, or are qualified to work, in the archives, archive conservation and records management sector in the UK and Ireland. It provides access to a range of ARA member benefits, and enables you to engage in all ARA activities. More importantly,
Individual Membership enables you to enrol onto our professional development programme and work towards professional registration at the Foundation, Registered or Fellow levels. Membership fees are graded according to earnings from £36 to £324. Individual members who become unemployed, retire, are on maternity leave etc can apply for the concessionary membership at a cost of £23
International membership is a sub-category of individual membership. International membership is open to all who work in archives, archive conservation and records management outside the UK and Ireland. It provides access to an array of ARA member benefits and enables you to engage in ARA activities. Costs £52
