Hi all!
I have pre-processed resting-state fMRI images that have undergone VBM processing (parcellated into GM already, smoothed and normalised) that I have to insert as a DV in a Multiple Linear Regression in SPM.
I want to investigate the effects of multiple covariates (from clinical/demographic data) on the resulting pre-processed images with certain covariates being covariates of interest that are continuous, such as age, and others being binarised, such as gender (0 for male and 1 for female, for example) that are of no interest.
I find it a bit tricky to understand how to insert covariates of no interest (e.g., gender and handedness), and how I will be able to interpret the outputted images therefore. Would I insert the covariates of no interest in the 'Multiple covariates' menu or under the 'Covariates' menu? Then if those covariates are of no interest would I simply define their contrasts in comparison to a covariate of interest as -1 0 0 for example?
Also, if my covariates are binarised and not continuous (given that a vector has to be entered), how would I go about entering those into the MLR when I specify the factor design?
Thank you very much for the information.
Take care :)
