Historical Geography Research Group
Call for Session Sponsorship
RGS-IBG Annual Conference, Newcastle 2022
The RGS-IBG Historical Geography Research Group (HGRG) would like to invite expressions of interest for sponsored sessions for the RGS-IBG 2021 Annual Conference, which will take place at Newcastle University from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September 2022.
The RGS are a planning for an event with in-person, online, and hybrid options. The theme for the 2022 Annual Conference, chaired by Professor Rachel Pain (Newcastle University) is Geographies beyond Recovery. You can find out more about the conference and Chair’s theme here: https://www.rgs.org/research/annual-international-conference/
HGRG invite proposals for sessions or existing CFPs that will be sponsored by the Research Group. Session sponsorship means that a session is branded in the conference programme with the Research Group’s name, and gives the opportunity to promote the session through our Research Group networks. We invite proposals for session sponsorship that engage with the Chair’s theme, as well as others focusing on all areas of historical geography. We are happy to offer joint sponsorship as appropriate with other research groups.
To apply for HGRG session sponsorship please send details of your session including the session title, organisers, and abstract to HGRG Secretary Hannah Awcock ([log in to unmask]) by 11 March 2022. The committee will review the applications and we will inform session organisers of decisions by 18 March. Session proposals then need to be submitted directly to the RGS by the session organiser(s) by 25 March 2022.
