The Welsh Government’s Library provides information and research services to policy and legal teams based in multiple locations. The library collection comprises print and digital information supporting the development of policy and legislation in Wales and includes the official publications archive. The Library’s print collection is held in Cardiff although many services such as training, literature searching and enquiries are provided remotely.
We are seeking an assistant librarian to fill a permanent vacancy created by staff moves within the team.
You’ll be part of a team providing a high quality fast paced research service as well as other services to all Welsh Government staff. You’ll use your professional skills and knowledge to:
• Carry out Literature searches working with our customers to define requirements and deliver information to support policy and legal teams within Welsh Government
• Cataloguing of digital and print publications, including the capture of publications for the Welsh Government’s publications archive.
• Support the development of the library management system
• Respond to customer enquiries
• Provide training: information literacy, induction and the use of the internet & electronic resources (online database) training
• Engage with customers and stakeholders as an advocate of library services.
