Journal Discovery Sustainability: Special issue on Sustainability and Health
It is widely acknowledged that many processes leading to sustainability
have a positive impact on human health. To the same measure, a depletion of natural resources may
lead to a reduction of quality of life, and, inter alia, may negatively influence health.
One of the greatest impacts of adopting sustainable practices in health care is in addressing the environmental and social determinants of health at the source: by creating healthy living and work spaces.
Sustainable practices may enhance the provision of health care services in several ways, from reducing facilities’ environmental impact to leading efforts to address public health threats due to climate change.
Based on the need to explore the connections between sustainability and health, this Special Collection (special issue) of the journal
Discovery Sustainability
