Undertaking Evidence Reviews using MAXQDA (online) with Dr Christina Silver
14 & 15 March (2 afternoons from 1.30 to 5pm)
Using dedicated software tools to undertake evidence reviews can strengthen results by ensuring transparency, reliability and validity. The analytic procedures can be structured and systematised to a greater degree than is possible with general purpose software, enabling processes to be documented, and results to be systematically evidenced.
This course introduces the integrated use of bibliographic software and MAXQDA – a leading qualitative data analysis software program which is widely used for applied and academic research – for undertaking evidence reviews.
The course highlights and discusses the principles of harnessing these tools powerfully, providing an overview of the range of tools available and the data management and analytic possibilities provided by them. We undertake and discuss common tasks as a group, and you’ll be guided through practical hands-on exercises using sample data. In addition, you can set-up an analysis using your own materials, with support from the tutor. More details are available at www.the-sra.org.uk/training
The cost to attend this course is £165 for SRA members. Non-member rate is £220
Course tutor Dr Christina Silver has trained many thousands of researchers and students in qualitative methods/software since 1998. She is a researcher and teacher of qualitative data analysis methods and software, specializing in all the major tools. She also manages the CAQDAS Networking Project at the University of Surrey, undertakes research, training, and consultancy via QDA Services Ltd, and is co-author of two books on qualitative software and analysis.
