# CALL FOR PAPERS
The Symposium on Communication by Gaze Interaction organized by the COGAIN Association (http://cogain.org/) will be co-located with ETRA 2022 (https://etra.acm.org/2022/<https://etra.acm.org/2021/>), the ACM Symposium on Eye Tracking Research & Applications. ETRA 2022 will take place (virtually) in Seattle, USA, from June 8 to 11.
# SPECIAL TOPIC: SHARED GAZE AND COLLABORATION
This year’s special topic for COGAIN is dedicated to the opportunities and challenges of collaboration with eye-tracking technology. We therefore invite position papers and work-in-progress papers that are related to collaborative use cases that involve eye gaze interactions, such as:
* Eye tracking in multi-user virtual environments enabled by HMDs & Metaverse
* Videoconferencing and Online-meetings enhanced by eye tracking technology
* Mobile interaction via smartphone and smart-glasses that integrate and study eye gaze for multiple people
* Interactive, attention-aware, joint attention enhancements in human interaction
* Computer-supported collaborative work
# GENERAL TOPICS OF INTEREST
The COGAIN workshop focuses on all aspects of gaze interaction related to eye-controlled assistive technology. Thanks to its strong identity, the symposium will be the right venue to present advances on a wide range of topics from new capabilities in gaze interaction, gaze enhanced applications, to gaze contingent devices, etc. It should be clear from the authors submission how their work related to assistive technologies or this year’s theme.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* General gaze-controlled GUIs
* Eye-typing
* Gaze-enhanced games
* Gaze-controlled robots and vehicles
* Gaze interaction with mobile devices
* Gaze-controlled smart-home devices
* Gaze interfaces for wearable computing
* Gaze interaction in 3D (VR/AR/MR & real world)
* Usability and UX evaluation of gaze-based interfaces•User context estimation from eye movements
* Interaction study of eye movements & pupil responses
* Gaze-assisted multimodal interaction (gaze with multitouch, mouse, gesture, head movement, etc.)
# SUBMISSIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
Both special and general topic papers will be submitted in the same system, format, and deadline. Papers should have a size that fits to the contribution, up to eight pages long (single-column format, not counting references), anonymized, and submitted via PCS: https://new.precisionconference.com/etra (select the COGAIN track from the drop down list).
