Dear colleagues,
I would like to draw your attention to Radiant Maternity, the inaugural conference of the AHRC-funded Slavic and East European Maternal Studies research network (SEEMS), which will be taking place online this Friday and Saturday (January 28th and 29th). Please see the attached PDF for details of our panels on motherhood and parenting in various Slavic and East European contexts, refracted though the lens of literature, folklore, history, sociology, gender studies and many other disciplines. The conference also includes several non-academic sessions which may be of interest to colleagues, including the Motherhood, Gender, Translation and Censorship in Eastern European Women’s Writing online discussion at 7.30pm GMT on Friday, for which you should register separately on Eventbrite here:

For all other panels and sessions, please write to the organizers (Professor Muireann Maguire and Dr Eglė Kačkutė) at [log in to unmask] to request the Zoom links for one or both days of the conference. Registration is free.
Please see our website for details of other online and in-person events organized by the SEEMS network during 2022.
