Dear all
We are seeing an increase in the number of requests for students to use noise-cancelling headphones in (in-person) exams. In the past, we have allowed limited use under strict conditions, but this wouldn't work on any larger scale.
The problem is exacerbated by the introduction this year of some in-person but online exams (with BYOD), so several hundred students in a room, tapping away, would (I suspect) be distracting, and so further requests might be reasonable.
Does anyone have a similar problem or policy/guidance as to how you manage student requests for headphones in exams you would be willing to share?
In addition, any lessons learned from implementing or changing your policy on this would also be helpful.
Many thanks,
Jenny Green
